IT Manager

IT Service Delivery at Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) is an evolving and important part of the business working towards bridging the gap between service and customer experience. As the Firm grows, our IT services need to transform and improve so that we can continue to support the needs of our users and their clients. Your Role:

  • You will be the ‘face of IT’ in Germany and must be able to deliver excellent customer service and translate complex technical ideas into workable solutions for the lawyers
  • You will manage IT operations, services and support across WFW Germany offices (Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich) and contribute to Global IT Services and IT in the business including lead of a direct report
  • The focus of your role will be the provision of technical support for WFW personnel, their desktop/laptops and all associated peripheral devices in addition to operating system and application support for all WFW approved systems and software. It will also include the support for our telephony systems (currently a mix of Cisco and Skype) and mobile phones/mobile contracts
  • You will also be responsible for the support of the audio-visual systems and services in the meeting rooms and the day to day liaison with any national 3rd party suppliers who may provide outsourced support
  • You will work closely with the business to identify key services, improve user adoption and develop improvement plans where needed
  • You will ensure that IT services and systems are effectively used within the German offices, the IT Manager will work directly with local and national stakeholders and the global IT team
  • You will need to liaise directly with local and global peers to deliver new services, systems and solutions within all German offices i.e. agile working service
Your Profile:
  • Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • strong experience of working within IT department (preferably in an international environment)
  • Familiarity with ITIL V3 principles, Active Directory User Access Systems, Exchange email systems (inc MimeCast), Windows 10 & Office 2016, Document & Template Management System, BlackBerry UEM for mobile management, Skype for Business, Citrix
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required to engage with stakeholders at all levels (German and English)
  • Good understanding of project management methods to support the operational delivery of tasks and actions
  • A positive and flexible approach to work, hands-on mentality and problem-solving skills
